Conference connections

Stagecoach Performing Arts has once again demonstrated its commitment to fostering community within its international franchise network

Conference connections

Recently, members from the Canadian franchise network gathered at Deerhurst Resort, a serene lakeside venue in Huntsville, Ontario, for two days of connection, collaboration and celebration.

Here, CEO Andy Knights reflects on the importance of events like these in strengthening the bonds across the Stagecoach network, and why in-person interactions are vital for the growth and success of franchisees.

There is something truly special about gathering in person, and this year’s Canadian conference at Deerhurst Resort was no exception. As I reflect on the event, I am reminded just how critical these face-to-face interactions are to the success of our franchisees and the strength of the Stagecoach network. While technology has kept us connected over the past few years, nothing compares to the energy, collaboration and camaraderie that comes from meeting in person.

The conference was more than just an opportunity to share knowledge and updates. It was about connection. I often say that our franchisees are the lifeblood of Stagecoach. They are the ones out in their communities, inspiring the next generation of performers, and events like this remind us all of the importance of building a strong support system. For franchisees – whether they are brand new or have been with us for years – these gatherings provide a space to share challenges, celebrate successes and forge relationships that will carry them through the ups and downs of running a business.

This year’s conference was particularly special as it was the first for Kristi Wenaus in her new role as Master Franchisee for Canada. Kristi has brought incredible passion and dedication to her new position, and it was fantastic to see her connect with the Canadian franchisees on a deeper level.

“This was an especially exciting conference for me, as it was my first in the role of Master Franchisee for Canada,” said Kristi. “It provided the perfect opportunity to connect with my fellow Canadian franchisees in person and align our goals for the months ahead. Being able to share our vision for the future and strengthen our relationships in such a beautiful setting made it a truly memorable experience.”

Conferences like this one are a cornerstone of what we do at Stagecoach. They are an essential part of maintaining and growing our international network, which spans over 3,000 schools across eight countries. Our Canadian franchisees are a small but mighty group, representing five provinces, and their contributions to Stagecoach are invaluable. Gathering them together for these kinds of events ensures that we are all moving in the same direction, united by a common purpose – to help children build confidence, creativity and life skills through performing arts.

It is also important to remember that these conferences are not just about what is happening right now – they are about looking to the future. As Lisa Stead, our COO, pointed out, this year’s event was about setting the stage for growth.

“This conference wasn’t just about celebrating our past successes, it was about setting the stage for a bright future,” shared Lisa. “Canada is a key market for Stagecoach, and the passion and dedication of our franchisees here are vital to our continued growth. With demand rising, I’m confident that with Kristi’s leadership and the support of our incredible Canadian network, Stagecoach will continue to thrive and expand across the country.”

There is something to be said about the impact of being in the same room with like-minded individuals. As we continue to expand, both here in Canada and around the world, it is gatherings like these that remind us of the strength of our network and the power of shared vision and collaboration. I am confident that with the passion of our franchisees, the leadership of Kristi and the continued support from the entire Stagecoach family, we are set for an exciting and prosperous future.
